Holidays in Hawaii

Aloha, Beachly Tribe! As you may know, the Hawaiian Islands are near and dear to the hearts here at Beachly. Not only do some of our employees live on the islands, but Hawaii is what inspired Beachly as you know it today!

What you may not know, is the not-so-traditional festivities that happen on the islands around the holidays. From surfing Santas to huge luau parties, there are so many fun things happening in the Pacific to celebrate the holiday season. Let's dive in!

In the heart of the Pacific, where the waves weave tales and the sun blankets the golden shores, Hawaii transforms into a tropical holiday paradise like no other. While the rest of the world may dream of a white Christmas, Hawaiians infuse the season with their own special brand of magic—a splash of aloha spirit that turns the holidays into a sun-soaked celebration!

As December unfolds, the Hawaiian islands buzz with anticipation. Families embark on a festive journey, adorning their homes with twinkling lights and wreaths crafted from seashells. But it's the Surfing Santas who truly steal the show. Picture this: Santa Claus, ditching his sleigh and reindeer for a longboard and a Hawaiian shirt, catching waves along the shores of Waikiki Beach. Now that's a sight to behold!

    Holidays in Hawaii

Come Christmas Eve, Surfing Santas from every corner of the islands gather at Waikiki Beach. From keiki to kupuna, surfers of all ages paddle out into the crystal-clear waters, their surfboards transformed into festive masterpieces. It's a unique spectacle that screams "Mele Kalikimaka" louder than any carol.

As the sun dips below the horizon, the beach transforms into a magical scene. Families and friends gather around, sharing stories and laughter, while the tantalizing aroma of a Hawaiian luau feast wafts through the air. Think pork roasted in an imu, pineapple-glazed ham, and taro rolls that make your taste buds hula with delight—pure YUM!

      Surfing Santas

The real magic happens when the Surfing Santas make their triumphant return to the shore. LED lights illuminate their surfboards, turning the beach into a kaleidoscope of colors. Santa himself takes center stage, leading a hula dance that captivates all who are fortunate enough to witness it.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, the clock strikes midnight, and the sky explodes in a dazzling fireworks display. The bursts of color reflect off the water, creating a breathtaking spectacle that leaves everyone in awe. It's an extravagant celebration, a visual symphony that beckons those who haven't experienced it to add it to their bucket list.

In Hawaii, the holidays aren't just about decorations and feasts; they're a celebration of family, nature's beauty, and the true spirit of aloha. It's a season where Santa ditches his sleigh for a surfboard, and the entire island dances to a tune that's as unique as it is unforgettable. So, from the land where the sun matches the warmth of its people's hearts, Mele Kalikimaka from Hawaii! May your holidays be filled with the magic of the islands!
