The Birth of Pirani: From Beach Litter to Sustainable Innovation
Pirani was born out of a shared passion for the ocean and a drive to protect our planet. Founded by husband and wife team Brandegee and Danielle, both designers and nature enthusiasts, the inspiration for Pirani came from their daily walks along the beach. In 2018, living just a block from the shore, they were disheartened by the litter scattered across the sand, with the iconic red party cup being a major culprit.
Determined to make a difference, Brandegee designed a vacuum-insulated and reusable version of the red party cup, while Danielle championed the BYOC (Bring Your Own Cup) movement. Their vision was to create a product that not only reduced waste but also promoted a sustainable lifestyle. Launching on Kickstarter in the summer of 2018, Pirani quickly gained traction, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Pride and Progress: Building a Sustainable Community
Starting a business from their one-bedroom apartment in Lauderdale by the Sea, Brandegee and Danielle have grown Pirani into a thriving community and a movement. Their journey has been marked by hard work, dedication, and a commitment to sustainability. Today, Pirani is not just a brand; it's a symbol of change and a beacon for eco-conscious living.
One of the accomplishments they are most proud of is their partnership with One Percent For the Planet.
